Entry #10 Supernatural

                                                                    
              "Saving people, hunting things, the family business.", A classic line from the first ever episode of the great show Supernatural. This show first air in 2005 and is now coming to an end with 15 seasons. I first started watching the show in 2012 and my mom watched it on and off before that. So a fan of the show I was pretty upset when I found out that it was ending, i'm still in a sort of denial stage.
                The show revolves around two brothers,Sam and Dean Winchester, from Lawrence, Kansas that fight monsters and save the world from evil. They often end up become the evil themselves. It starts with their mother dying a mysterious death when they were really young, leading their father to become obsessed with finding what killed her. They constantly lived in different motels while their father fought monsters and they were trained to hunt from a very young age. How they were raised is most likely the cause of them questioning if they are the evil ones, instead.
                                                            
                   However, they try their best to change and become better people. For example, if one of them would turn into a vampire or some sort of monster, their father would immediately kill them. The brothers will try to find any way to cure them and wouldn't even think of the latter. Also, Sam and Dean learn that not all monsters are bad and will only hunt them if it is needed. The boys definitely end up changing throughout the show and become better people.
                                                        
                     One thing that I love about this show is that it shows that family is everything. They put family before anything else. Even if they are not directly related to them, they believe their friends to be their family. They never turn their backs or give up on each other and I think that is very important.
                                                         
                 Overall, I am not ready for this show to end. I have watched it for so long and it means a lot to me and I am not ready for it to end. I just hope that it has a happy ending, but it probably won't.

Entry #9 Customs

                                                 
              In my English class we are talking about food and some problems with it. I ended up finding this cartoon and It really got me thinking. This cartoon suggests that it seems like people don't actually care about making a change to the food and health problems. More specifically, the cartoon is treating the thought of changing the health care system like it is a weapon. In customs at airports they ask if they are carrying and dangerous weapons on them and that is basically what they are saying in this cartoon.
           Fast food and unhealthy foods are a big part of peoples lives and they don't want to give it up even if they are told about the risks of it. They believe that it won't happen to them just because it happened to someone else. We need to make them believe it in order to make a change.

Entry #8 Anxiety

               Many people in the world have a problem with Anxiety. I want to think that it is most common with this generation. For those that don't know what it is, a google definition of the Anxiety disorder would be, an intense and constant worry and fear about everyday situations.There are many jokes about it on the internet, mainly being used as a way to cope with having it. My friends and I make these jokes often too. I, personally, have dealt with anxiety for the past five years. I has been a huge part of my life, basically, it controls my life.
                                                                
              One big problem that I face with it is that I avoid situations that will give me Anxiety and sometimes  I will give myself it while trying to avoid it. An example of this would be, making up excuses to not go some place or talk to someone.
              I actually have Social Anxiety which is very difficult for me because I always want to be the center of attention. To go into more detail, I want everyone to listen to me and I never want to be discluded from things but I don't want everyone to stare at me all at once. I guess it puts thoughts in my head that everyone is judging me and that everyone suddenly hates me and that makes me want to just hide from everyone, always.
                                                                 
                   This makes me push everyone away and put myself in my own little bubble. I end up getting very lonely and depressed make more problems out of nothing. However, lately I have been trying things that I don't normally do and try to overcome this problem. I might even go to a Halloween party, which is way out of my comfort zone.

Entry #7 Fresh

                 Recently, in my English class, I watched a film called Fresh. It was about farms and how different farming methods can affect the health of the people. The film tries to appeal to and inform consumers about the food they eat and where it comes from. For example, in the film they show animals in small, cramped spaces and being fed foods that they don't normally eat. They state that because of this the animals get more diseases and need to be injected with things that can affect the quality of meat that people eat.                                                                                                                                                                                  
                This is overall just not healthy for the animals and a terrible way to take care of them. I like the way another farm in the film took care of the animals. They let the cattle roam around and eat natural grass to make them think that they are in the wild again. Letting the animals do what they normally would do in the wild is way healthier for both the animals and people.
                                                            
             It upsets me to see how cruel the animals are being treated. They deliver the food that people eat but get treated very poorly for it. I think more people should know what is happening in the farms. If more people knew about this problem and did something about it, then maybe they can change farming and make it healthier.

Entry # 6 Conspiracies

              Have you ever thought about how the government can control us and persuade us to think certain things? Recently, I have been watching a youtuber, Shane Dawson, make these conspiracy videos and it really has me thinking.                                                          

             In one video particular, he talks about how depression and suicide is shown in a lot of kids television shows. He then connects that to how high suicide rates are now. He believes that as kids continue to see that more and more it sticks in their minds and when they grow up and go through a tough time like they show in the cartoon, then they will commit suicide because that's what the cartoon told them was the correct response to that.

           The rest of the conspiracy states that the government planted that in peoples minds to decrease the over population rates. People also seem to think that in order to decrease over population rates, the government purposely started the Woolsey Fire in California. This is due to how some houses were completely burnt down but some houses around it weren't even touched by the fire at all.

This is just a crazy conspiracy theory and you can think what you want with it. Although, it is kind of crazy to think that our government would do this to us, I wouldn't doubt that they wouldn't do it.

Entry # 5 Mayhem

             Almost everybody has seen a commercial, they come on in between your favorite shows on TV all the time. However, I know most people have converted to watching Netflix or Hulu now, instead. But there are still people that do still watch television, like my parents,for instance.

           The other day I walked into the living room when a certain commercial came on. It stuck in my mind, I had never thought about these types of commercials with this much depth before. It was one of those Mayhem, Allstate Commercials. Usually, I would just laugh at it and walk away but this time I actually understood what was actually being said in the commercial. 

           There is a guy in a suit shown driving a car, he states that he is a "filthy rich executive" and that the "market is down by a million points". He then freaks out and spills his coffee all over himself, causing him to crash his car into the car stopped in front of him. He blames the car in front of him for ruining his very expensive car and sues him for it. He then states to get allstate in order to "...save money and be better protected from mayhem,like me".

      After watching this commercial I realize that the commercial want the audience to fell the frustrations of being in that situation and to understand how important it is to get insurance. They believe that if they put people that don't  have insurance in that perspective and make them feel those emotions, then they would be influenced to get it.

When you think about it, it is actually good advertising. This ad shows that there are many people like this and just a lot of bad drivers in general in America. When a person without insurance sees this advertisement, they will definitely want to get some, in order to protect themselves.

Entry #4 The Phantom Of The Opera

               When I was three years old,my parents bought the 2004 movie of the play The Phantom Of The Opera.It was and still is my favorite movie.When I was little I would run around in stores singing the songs from the movie.I had stuffed dolls that I named after the characters and I even wanted to name my little brother after the movie.

       I loved the actors in the movie as well,so much that I didn't want to watch any other version of the play.They are such good singers and play the parts well.I absolutely love the main actress that plays Christine Daae,Emmy Rossum. I just realized that she is also in a TV show that I am watching right now called Shameless.The two roles are extremely different but she portrays both characters very well.

    The music,of course,was always my favorite part of this movie/play.I can probably recite the majority of the lyrics and dialogue in movie.Not only did I love the lyrics but also the instrumentals.I can listen to the soundtrack on repeat for days and never get tired of it. 

      One I watched it over again once I grew up, I realized that it is actually a little dark and twisted.Maybe a little too twisted for a toddler to be watching it.As a child I was just intrigued by the singing,colors,and love story.As a young adult, I can see sweet sad and twisted love story.

The movie is about The Phantom,who falls in love with a young girl that lives in the opera house.Through the walls of the opera house,he has been teaching her to sing ever since she was seven years old.She always thought it was an angel sent by her dead father,but soon finds out that's not the case.When her childhood lover comes back into her life,The Phantom starts killing people to win her back.He doesn't understand that someone can't be forced to love someone else and uses violence to solve his problems,instead.All The Phantom has ever know is violence,because of  a deformity of his face his mother put him in a circus where they abused him for others amusement. 

At the end of the movie Christine teaches him that it's not his face that makes him a monster,it's how he acts.What I really like about this movie is that she looked past the murderous monster and made him a better person.Most people would have called him a monster and ran away.

       In the end,I believe that the message of the movie is that it doesn't matter what you look like,what matters is how you act and what you do.

Entry #3 Rush

                   I pick up the object with my middle finger and thumb.It is not very big,it doesn't even fully fit in the palm of my hand.As I raise the crescent moon shape to my mouth,I already have thoughts about how it is going to taste based off of its yellow color alone.I bite into the middle of the shape making sure to avoid the hard outer skin.As I bite down,my taste buds are met with an overwhelming sour sensation from the juicy middle.My face involuntarily reacts,one eye closed and the other squinted,my lips puckered,and eyebrows furrowed.In that moment it was like everything had stopped,frozen in time,my mind taking me to another place.Suddenly,I am in a world of yellow.Everywhere I look,all I see is the color yellow.I am standing in a forest of yellow egg shaped trees that have a rough outer layer. I start to walk towards the sound of running water.Past the yellow forest and grassy hills is a bright yellow river with a boat made out of the outer skin of the juicy object I just bit into.I carefully get into the boat and it starts quickly going down the river.It's not looking so good,the boat starts spinning in circles down the river,hitting rocks here and there.The water gradually becomes louder until it is roaring in my ears.That's when I realized that I was about to go over a waterfall.The water takes the boat and I over the edge making us separate as we fall.In the moment after going over the edge and before sinking into the water below,everything was in slow motion and I didn't have a care in the world,but that was soon interrupted with the sting of the water.The stinging sensation of the water overwhelmed me making me feel shriveled up and unable to breathe.Right as I felt like I was about to pass out,I had stopped biting and pulled my mouth away from the object.Soon after the sting went away making me feel bold and adventurous,It was a rush.

Entry #2 Music

         The moment we are born we are introduced to music.Actually,even before birth in the womb. Whatever your mother listened to while pregnant with you is what you heard.Music is everywhere and always has been.A song that is played when you are a baby can remain in your mind all your life.For example,when I was a baby my mom played a CD of Clare De Lune and my whole life I had that tune stuck in my head and I didn't know what it was until I asked someone in my freshman year of Highschool.This just shows how much music sticks with us.It can mean more to some people and to others they might not think much about it.No matter what your opinion of music is it does have an impact on you. Just like everything else in this world it can create your personality and form your different opinions of things.This is something that is not given much thought.It is just interesting to think that one song can change how we think no matter if we want it to or not.To add on to that thought many artists use the popularity of music to get their message across to others to make a change.Whether it be a change in what people think of the artist,themselves,others,society,or to start movements to change the world for the better. To conclude, Music is a very important thing in our lives,No matter who you are,whether you just listen to it or you make it, music has some sort of an affect you.

         If you ask some people they will say that blogs are stupid and pointless but I find blogs to be very interesting and creative.It's a good way to connect with others,learn new things,and strengthen your writing skills too.It can also be fun making the blog unique with your own style.It is interesting to see the different formats a blog can be in.For example,a family blog that I read named @theuglyvolvo https://twitter.com/theuglyvolvo blogs on Twitter.Instead of long "what I did for vacation" type of blogs that drag on and can become boring after a while,this person decided to blog using short to the point tweets.I personally like this about the blog,It keeps people entertained and coming back for more.Even I wanted to keep scrolling through her page.However,that blogger is stuck in the Twitter format and doesn't ever change.A more formal blog that I read named Finding The Universe https://www.findingtheuniverse.com/ has a website that they can change when they want.What I like about this blog is that even though the main topic of the blog is traveling it still has more of a variety.They have tips, resources, recommendations, advice, and guides for traveling.So this blog is obviously more of an informational blog but it is still very inviting to other viewers. Everything in the blog is clear and easy to get to and the pictures help intrigue viewers.Other people have started businesses using their blogs.For example,a person created the blog TMZ  https://www.tmz.com/ to give information about celebrities.This is a blog that I would have not thought to was a blog.I wouldn't have thought that news websites or websites that promote a business would be a blog.Now that I think of it,it makes a lot of sense.It is good for business.To either let people know what the business is all about making people want to buy from them.In TMZ's case they will get a lot of viewers because they are blogging about what is trending in the community.These blogs influence me to be creative and free with my blog.

This Is Me

                     My name is Elizabeth Vanessa Everhart, I am the oldest in my family with one brother seven years younger than me.I was born in May of 2001 making me currently 18 years old.I have lived in Glendale, Arizona my entire life, my parents bought our house a year before I was born. When I was little I was a bit of a tomboy, I loved being outside riding my bike or skateboard and playing basketball. As I grew up I stopped going outside as often due to my discovery of YouTube and video games. I found that I love making up stories leading me to start to write alternative stories to shows and characters in middle school. Later on, I created my own characters and stories but never finished anything because I got distracted by other things. I realized writing things on paper never worked out so I thought I should turned my stories into moving images to help keep my mind focused. I have always created stories ever since I was little.When I was little and my parents would read a book to me I would change the characters and make up my own story instead of what the book had. Now my mind is still creating stories every second, distracting me from my daily life. I want to eventually be able to show people these stories. Of course I thought about being other things instead of a Filmmaker, like a musician or dancer because I love those things so much but I don't think I can be confident enough to do that.My mom is very artistic and majored in art and photography so I ended up taking both subjects in high school and like them very much however I wanted to do something a little different.Therefore, I have decided on getting a Bachelors degree in Film to expand my knowledge of the subject to one day create my stories.
